It’s almost February 14, the time of the year to act all sweet towards your partner or partners (we don’t judge) and shower them with presents like flowers and chocolate. At least, that is what a lot of people want you to believe (read: e-commerce). The reality is that you can celebrate however you want with whomever you want! And since you are visiting our blog we assume you want to do something geeky! So here are 14 tips for not traditional but geeky Valentine’s Day activities!

Valentine’s day is a perfect excuse to go and see new geeky movies in the cinema. A lot of movies are released around this time of year, especially for moviegoers who want to go out and have a fun time. But if you do not feel like going out, a lot of streaming services offer a variety of movies to watch together on this day. And if you want to take it up a notch on the geekiness level, how about putting on VR headsets and watching video’s on Netflix or YouTube in 3D? Sounds like an awesome date!
Tip #2: Netflix and Valentine

Tip #9: It’s cooking time!
Did you know that there are special cookbooks with recipes how to create food from videogames? No? Look up The Geeky Chef or The Geek’s Cookbook. You will not be disappointed! Surprise yourself or your loved one with a geeky meal! Bonus points if it’s cruelty free.
Tip #10: Hello Arcade!
Arcades are back in business and they are even better than in to 80’s. Why you say? Because nowadays we can enjoy a whole lot of VR games on top of all the old school games. What are you waiting for? Go and have some fun!
Tip #11: Play some board games
Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to go to a Board game café (if possible). Or organize a board game night and hang out with friends, play some games, drink some coffee (or tea, or beer, or wine, or whiskey) and win some games! Tip #12: Go Kart or Laser tag?
Probably one of the more obvious date options for a geeky Valentine’s Day is to go play Laser tag or to go Go karting. But being obvious doesn’t make these activities less fun! So go on then, do the obvious!
And if you are an introvert, do not have any fun places in your area or would like to just have a nice intimate time with loved ones at home, then Nintendo has got you covered. Nintendo released a physical Mario Kart that you can drive around in your own home while using the Switch screen!
Tip #13: It’s Karaoke time!
Not afraid to embarrass yourself? Or are you really confident that you are a good singer? Then Karaoke is the thing for you! Time to sing a romantic song or just some anime intro songs for that matter. Going out to a karaoke bar could be fun on Valentines, but staying home and dusting off your SingStar games is a great way to spend the day together.
Tip #14: Go read some comics
Go to a comic book store, buy some comics or manga (or both), have some coffee and just relax while reading. Together or alone it doesn’t matter. Either way this sounds like a perfectly chill geeky Valentine’s Day! Did you know that you can buy Valentine editions of some of your favorite comics like the Harley Quinn Valentines Day Special or A Very DC Valentine’s Day?
