Career
We have discovered a cozy inn at the crossroads!
Hi there, and welcome to The Inn! I’m Chelsea, one of the co-founders of the blog: The Inn at the Crossroads and resident recipe builder, prop collector, and photographer. Here in the main hall at the inn, we’ve got a huge assortment of recipes from the Game of Thrones series, as well as some great recipes from historical cookbooks. In the various smaller rooms, there are dishes from other fictional worlds. Pull up a chair!
It’s autumn again and for GGG that means that we are heading to ‘de Jaarbeurs’. A well-known event building in Utrecht where gamers gather every year to visit gaming events. Somehow they manage to always organize these events around this time of year. But this year was special. It was the very first-time Gameforce was being held in Utrecht, or even in the Netherlands. So we were excited to check it out! During our visit, a small stall called La Fem Art immediately caught our eye. Femke, the digital designer behind the stand, who is also an illustrator and fantasy nerd was selling her fantastic art! We were all in love with her beautiful prints and stickers, all about strong female characters and with a charming vintage style. We couldn’t leave empty-handed and spend some of our gold on some must-have stickers for our journals.
Meet Diana owner of DumeeGamer.com
Hello fellow Girl Gamers,
My name is Diana Adams-Dumee and I’m the owner and founder of game website DumeeGamer.com and also of the brand new company Sparkly Unicorn.
I’m a thirty-something lady and to be honest almost a fourty-something lady. My first game console was the CBS ColecoVision (back in the eighties) After that the NES entered my family home. It was during those years I lost my heart to video games. Legend of Zelda was my all time favorite and I still play it nowadays. I have to admit after the PS1 (Resident Evil!!) I didn’t play that much video games anymore. For about ten years I was more interested in spending time with my friends and going out. And I still do :). But seven years ago when the Wii and PS3 hit the market, I was wondering what the developers had to offer nowadays. I started with the God of War and Uncharted series and never laid down the controller anymore.
The introduction
Hello there, let me introduce myself! My name is Lynn and I started with the realisation of my dream; founding a small business making stained glass and Tiffany windows called RannDago. I started the company alongside my study in art and design. Before that I studied restoration/decoration. I love being creative and I would love to learn how to motivate and teach others how to be more creative ass wel.
Curious to know how Lynn incorporates ‘gaming’ in her art? Then continue reading her story!
Girl Gamer Galaxy is inspired by all the women who work in the game industry around the world. Recently we had the pleasure of speaking to the Communication Manager of Hurrah Games Company, the beautiful Samira.
Introducing Samira…
Hi! My name is Samira and I live in Iran. My hobbies are music, movies, series, video games, mobile games, animations and astronomy. I first started gaming back when I was around 8 years old. Back then I used to play Return to Castle Wolfenstein. And I’ve basically been playing games ever since! I’m a gamer at heart and have played many PC and mobile games. It’s really hard to name all of them, but my absolute favorite game series of all time has to be the Dead Space serie. When it comes to mobile games, I’m an absolute Road Riot addict!
Meet Nanda, an all-round 2D and 3D artist
Hi there, my name is Nanda van Dijk. I’m an all-round 2D and 3D artist. My specialization is character animation and character creation. I graduated from the School of Art in Utrecht back in 2010 and have built almost 7 years worth of work experience ever since. Now I’m working as a freelancer on various projects in advertising, film and gaming industries. My work can be viewed on my website, on my Facebook page and on Instagram. Go ahead and take a look if you want.
So, my first contact with the game industry was back when I started working for MediaMonks, a global creative production partner specialized in making online branding campaigns. The first game I ever worked on was a game series called ‘House of Anubis’. I did some small modelling work back then for this series. Later on I worked on the Ninja Turtles game called ‘The Sewer Run‘. This time I got to do a lot more. Like animating Mikey, Leo and the shadow ninjas. It was an amazing project and I was happy to be part of it. Even though this project didn’t take long, I was nice to get some experience working on games.
