Known for winning the Dutch Streaming Awards back in 2021, Saar’s streaming career is still going strong. Saar, reals name Sarah Verhoeven, is a cheerful Dutch-speaking streamer known for steaming all types of games, from platformer to horror, and so much more. Her career started back in 2015 and Saar has done a lot of different projects, but nowadays she is known as a Nintendo streamer. Hi! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi, my name is Saar, and I’m a live streamer on the platform Twitch. I’ve been streaming since 2015. I’ve streamed on various platforms: Power Unlimited, Game Mania. And now I have my own channel on Twitch since 2019. I started gaming when I was really young because I really enjoy playing video games. I think I’ve been gaming since I was born haha!
I’m a huge fan of Nintendo games. And I really like the social interaction I have with others in chat. That was the reason why I started streaming. My favorite Nintendo character is without a doubt Link. I really love the Legend of Zelda series.
You’ve won the Dutch Streamer Awards. Can you tell us about that?
Last year (2021) I won the Dutch Streamer Awards. I’m really proud of that. I really did not expect to win an award. Winning the award has been the turning point in my career though. Now I can stream full-time and I have a lot of cool collaborations coming up, so I’m really proud of it!
What don’t your followers know about you yet?
My followers probably don’t know that I’m a sleepyhead sometimes, haha! People seem to think I’m gaming all day every day, but I love to stay in bed and sleep. Sometimes even when I’m supposed to be streaming.
Why should we watch your stream?
People should watch my stream because I’m a really fun Nintendo streamer. Besides Nintendo games, I play a lot of other games as well. Horror games, shooters, the Sims… a little bit of everything really. So if you like a big variety of games, you should definitely watch my stream!
Do you have tips for beginning streamers?
Just be yourself. And have fun while streaming. If you are enjoying yourself, your followers will enjoy the stream too. Having fun is the most important thing.
