It’s almost February 14, the time of the year to act all sweet towards your partner or partners (we don’t judge) and shower them with presents like flowers and chocolate. At least, that is what a lot of people want you to believe (read: e-commerce). The reality is that you can celebrate however you want with whomever you want! And since you are visiting our blog we assume you want to do something geeky! So here are 14 tips for not traditional but geeky Valentine’s Day activities!

What is Gaming cardio? Well, it is a phrase I just made up, so let me explain. If you visit our website regularly you might have noticed a few articles about fitness. Like the RPG-style workout series called ‘Level up your fitness’, where we basically ‘gamify’ your workout so you can enjoy it more. But what about video games that have a workout already built in? Why not use those games to entertain ourselves and level up our ‘fitness game’ as well? Genius! Right? So here’s my list of suggestions for video games that I consider to fall under the category of Gaming cardio to help you get the best of both worlds!
It’s been quite a while since we wrote an article about (upcoming) live action movies based on anime, comics or videogames (read the last one here). Especially considering that it seems that almost every movie released these days is based on the former. Or did the Marvel franchise just got inside our heads? Time to analyse what’s happening in the wonderful world of movies right now.
The days are getting shorter and colder. The leaves are changing colour and saying goodbye to the branches they were attached to. And yes, Starbucks is selling their famous Pumpkin Spice Latte. I for one love this time of the year. Not just because of the changes in scenery and the seasonal Starbucks coffee specials. No. I love this time of the year especially because of Halloween. A holiday filled with haunted houses, costume parties and a whole lot of candy. Who doesn’t love these things? Seriously!?
The Halloween vibe..
Kicking ass in an awesome first person shooter. Sounds pretty sweet right? Unfortunately this will probably never be me. Why? Because first person shooters (FPS) nauseate me. Almost every game with a first person view does, for that matter. Can I do something about it? Well, I have tried… obviously. Let me tell you about my attempts to fight gaming sickness. Spoiler-alert: They were not always that successful…
The introduction
Hello there, let me introduce myself! My name is Lynn and I started with the realisation of my dream; founding a small business making stained glass and Tiffany windows called RannDago. I started the company alongside my study in art and design. Before that I studied restoration/decoration. I love being creative and I would love to learn how to motivate and teach others how to be more creative ass wel.
Curious to know how Lynn incorporates ‘gaming’ in her art? Then continue reading her story!
Do you love gaming, movies and anime (not particularly in that order)? Yes? What about live action movies based on anime or games? Still a yes? Making a live action movie based on the former can be tricky. Here is why. If you base your movie on a game or anime you really don’t want to anger the die hard fans by deviating too much from the original. But! At the same time you want to reach a bigger audience than ‘just’ the die hard fans. Quite a challenge right? Some movie-directors thought they were up to this challenge. So here’s a short list of some (upcoming) live action movies based on anime or games.
Last year Girl Gamer Galaxy visited Tomofair and told you all about our little shopping haul. This year we visited Tomofair Amsterdam. Tomofair is a Japanese themed indoor market with anime, games, cosplay, manga and more. We always love to share our experiences with you and because a picture is worth a thousand words here’s a short photo-impression of our visit.
Asking the real questions
During Dutch Xmas Con we had the chance to speak with Sibel Kekilli. Mostly known for her role in the populair HBO series Game of Thrones (GoT) where she played as Shae, Tyrion Lannisters mistress. Of course a quick google search will tell you everything you want to know about Sibel. Yes, she lives in Germany. And yes, she had an acting career before she played on Game of Thrones. We are pretty sure Sibel is bored with answering the same questions over and over again. So we decided to make this interview a bit more Girl Gamer Galaxy proof. We hope you enjoy reading Sibel’s answers to the questions we prepared for her.
