A surprise from Blizzard Gear
Earlier this week my doorbell rang unexpectedly. The sound of the doorbell is a good reason for my dog Zuko to go frantic. So despite the fact that I had my headset on with the volume turned up, I heard that someone was at the door. A moment of joy emerged when I received the Blizzard box. I knew my boyfriend had a surprise in store for me, but I had no idea that he ordered something from Blizzard Gear. Recently my World of Warcraft addiction has taken over a huge part of my life (again) so I couldn’t wait to see what he had ordered. One slight problem: out of solidarity I had to wait until he was home to open the package! The torture!
What’s in the box?
With care I gently remove the tape off the box. This must be done with precision. I immediately recognise some Funko boxes. With a lot of enthusiasm I took them out: a super cute murloc and a badass Sylvannas. The Funco boxes are still in mint condition. Phieuw! Unpacking done right! On the Blizzard Gear website you can read reviews saying the feet of Sylvannas are too small which make the doll look weird or even fall over. The Funko’s I received are still in the box so I don’t know if that’s always the case. Update: I took them out the box to make the pictures for this article and yes Sylvannas stands a bit wobbely.
Then something else caught my eye. A tiny transparent box containing a small green murloc on a beach. There is a solar cell placed in front of the murloc. If you place the murloc in sunlight it’s supposed to wobble his head. Unfortunately the ‘Cute But Deadly Solar Buddy’ didn’t wobble at all. I guess he was paralized or stunned, even in full sunlight. A huge disappointment. Luckily, after sending a short message to the helpdesk, a new cute but deadly solar buddy was on his way to my house. This one is now cheerfully wobbling his head on my desk and making me smile every day. Very cute, not so deadly.
There was still one item left in the box, still all wrapped up in some paper. Carefully, I lifted it out of the box. It’s a blue and white oversized mug! Blizzard Gear sells a cute but deadly series with four different mugs: Character in orange, Heroine in purple, Hero in green and Villian in blue. After receiving the blue one, I decided that I really want them all! The mug is very nice, extremely large and during my gaming sessions I use it to drink a whole lot of delicious tea.
Are you excited to order?
The products from the webshop are delivered quickly. Which of course is a good thing. The Blizzard Gear service is top notch, as I received a new murloc when it appeared that the first one was defective. The webshop prices are reasonable. I would prefer to buy a whole lot of stuff at once, but be aware! After receiving my order I received a letter from FedEx, mentioning that I still had to pay customs duties. Makes sense. However, the import duties were almost as high as the total purchase price of the items! Obviously I was shocked by that. Despite these high costs, the rest of the mug collection and a horde of leggings are still on my wish list. Maybe I can buy these items at an event, since import costs are so shockingly high.
