Let me introduce myself

Hello Girl Gamer Galaxy and other gamers out there! Before we start about ‘Bregje & Koen’ let me introduce myself first. My name is Bregje and I am 22 years old. Currently I work parttime in a supermarket. My biggest hobby is gaming! I started gaming at a very young age of only 4 (!!!) years old. Keep in mind, I did play *different* types of games back then. For example, I played ”Nijntje”(Miffy) on the pc, haha! Beside gaming I like to talk with my friends and spend time with them. I also really love all different kinds of music and dancing. And I almost forgot, I love to cosplay my favorite game characters.

Geeky love?

I just never thought that this would happen to me.

I never really searched for a boy who likes games too. Though I must admit that it can be quite handy. As long as he lets me play my games, everything is fine. I myself do believe in of love at first sight. But now (obviously) I also believe that two people who met on the internet can end up in a serious relationship too. I just never thought that this would happen to me.

The story

Me and Koen haven’t been an item for that long. I met Koen through World of Warcraft. It was a very long and hard road for the both of us. We were both in another relationship when we met each other. I had a guild together with my (ex)boyfriend and Koen joined as raid leader. The first time we met in an online call we felt an instant connection. But as we were both involved with someone else already, we didn’t do anything about our feelings for eachother. Well, not untill we started to realise that our feelings had grown so strong that we could not hide them anymore. My (ex)boyfriend found out about what was going on. At that moment I was living with him at his parents’ home. His parents instantly kicked me out of the house when they found out me and my (ex)boyfriend had broken up.

I remember being so broken. I decided to go to Koen. It felt so good being with him and I knew this was the guy I wanted. I was thinking: If everything was right in our relationships we would not have fallen in love with another person. In that weekend we knew we wanted to be together. A few days after Koen broke up with his girlfriend too. It was about 2 weeks after this happend that me and Koen officially got involved with eachother. I was so happy. I always missed something in my past relationships and I finally found that with Koen. He always makes me smile and is super charming and romantic. I can’t wish for a better boyfriend. <3

The ups and the downs of being together

Koen and I play a lot of games together. We play World of Warcraft every single day. We got our own guild together, with some friends of ours. It’s very handy that we like the same kind of games! Although there are some small differences. He likes Zelda very much, but I barely played that. Sometimes we play League of Legends together, and CS:GO. In the evening we watch movies or series on Rabbit TV, like Pokémon. Haha! We both like cosplay too! I’ve been cosplaying for a few months now and Koen wants to start with it aswell. But there are also less fun parts to us dating. We both started to realise that the distance between us in real life is pretty huge. I live in Noord-Brabant and Koen lives in Friesland at the moment. Even tho this didn’t make me change my mind, I have to admit it doesn’t make things easier. It’s a 4 hour journey by train, every 2 weeks. But being with Koen for the weekend is totally worth the long travel.
