It’s time to do another Character in the Spotlight! Did you miss the first one? No worries click here for the previous edition. This spotlight is going to be a bit different though. Why? Because it’s Halloween and we are going to make it more scary. So we are going to put a very creepy ‘game character’ in the spotlight. Why the quotation marks? Because the subject of this spotlight didn’t originate in games. Where did it originate then? Keep on reading if you want to know more.
Halloween
This year we are excited to share a list of family-friendly games for Halloween to play with loved ones. Halloween is when people of all ages embrace their inner ghoul, witch, or monster and indulge in some spooky fun. While many Halloween activities are geared toward the older crowd, there are family-friendly options if you want to share the holiday spirit with younger family members.
Happy Halloween!
It’s October, the month that is famous for Pumpkin Spice Latte’s, and ofcourse, Halloween. It’s time to be immersed in lots of spooky things. What better time is there to get all dressed up and to scare random people outside? There’s a lot going on this month.
The (not so Dutch) Halloween tradition
It is widely believed that most Halloween traditions originate from Britain and Ireland. But when we think about Halloween most of us probably think of it as an American festivity. With customs like: trick-or-treating, going to a costume party, eating candy corn, carving pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns, visiting haunted attractions, apple bobbing, etcetera. In the Netherlands Halloween isn’t a recognised national holiday. But it is becoming more and more populair. Personally I love Halloween! Especially the creepy, spooky and gory elements to it. So I welcome every Dutch Halloween event with open arms. Of course, like everybody else, my time (and money) is limited. So which Dutch Halloween events do we think are worth your time? Here’s a small overview.
