The (not so Dutch) Halloween tradition
It is widely believed that most Halloween traditions originate from Britain and Ireland. But when we think about Halloween most of us probably think of it as an American festivity. With customs like: trick-or-treating, going to a costume party, eating candy corn, carving pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns, visiting haunted attractions, apple bobbing, etcetera. In the Netherlands Halloween isn’t a recognised national holiday. But it is becoming more and more populair. Personally I love Halloween! Especially the creepy, spooky and gory elements to it. So I welcome every Dutch Halloween event with open arms. Of course, like everybody else, my time (and money) is limited. So which Dutch Halloween events do we think are worth your time? Here’s a small overview.
