Sakuraflor at BlizzCon

To be honest, when we got invited to go to BlizzCon 2016 it was like a dream come true: ‘Sakuraflor at BlizzCon!’ It was definitely an event which was on all of our bucketlists. So getting a chance to go there was really insane. We didn’t even really know what to expect. It’s an International con and on top of that, it’s one of the biggest ones in the United States. So we went there with zero expectations.

Let me introduce myself

My name is Sakuraflor. Im a cosplayer/gamer from the Netherlands and part of Team Chaos Cosplay. You may already have read about me and Karel in Geekcouples, but this time I would like to share our experience at Blizzcon 2016 with you!

What made my visit to BlizzCon so special?

In the past me and my friends had been to many conventions. But we could all agree that this was by far the most impressive one. To start off, the atmosphere there was amazing. You could really feel the love and the passion that everyone had for Blizzard and it’s games. Later on we found out that all of the people working at this convention (for example, the stewards etc.) were actual Blizzard employees! So the game developers, concept artist, story writers, they were all just walking around there, mingling with all the fans. How cool is that?

At the event they had signing tables for each of the Blizzard games. There you had the chance to get your stuff signed by many of the developers and artists that had worked on those games. They were extremely friendly and approachable. You could really feel the appreciation they had towards all of their fans. This seemed funny to me, because I’d expect it to be the other way around!

BlizzCon 2016 truly was a gamers’ heaven. There was a possibility to play all of the Blizzard games and even try out some of the new additions. Visitors even got the chance to play Sombra before anyone else could!

Blizzard really appreciates cosplayers and the love they have for the games. I can guarantee that this is also the case the other way around. It was amazing to see the effort and time people put into make their amazing costumes. The talent at Blizzcon was so extreme! Overall it was an insanely awesome experience and we are already set for next year!
