Hi everyone, I’m Eva, also known as nonamed92 on Twitch. I’m 25 years old and at the moment a 2nd year ICT Business student. In my spare time I like to play a lot of different games and stream them on my Twitch channel. I started gaming when I was about 9 years old, because at that time the Zelda and Pokémon series were a huge hype at school.
This is a story about us, Ingrid & Hendrik. Let me take you back to 2009, where our story began. This was a time when World of Warcraft was at a peak of it’s popularity. I, Ingrid, was in my early 20’s and suffering from depression. I had stopped going to school, quit my job, slowly lost contact with old friends and my life consisted out of sleeping and playing World of Warcraft. The only time I would go outside was to do groceries and sometimes to go out to a bar were I’d drink so much I would almost pass out. Not the best time to meet the love of your life, but somehow I did anyway. And at the moment I didn’t even know it yet!
Hi there! My name is Marianne. I’m 27 years old and I live in the Netherlands. I’ve been given the status of a true Harry Potter geek by the founders of Girl Gamer Galaxy. And honestly I cannot disagree. I’m a proud collector of multiple Harry Potter items. I’ve bought all the video games on every console and own all the books in Dutch (my native language) and in English. I have all the Harry Potter movies on dvd and blue ray. I even own some Harry Potter clothing. Because, like the greatest wizard of all time Albus Dumbledore has taught us: ‘You can never own too many (Harry Potter) socks’!

But before we start with some geeky recipes for food we are going to talk about what to drink. In this article specifically we want to underline the importance of a good glass of wine. It is said that wine is very popular amongst the nobility, whereas the smallfolk prefer beer or ale. At the Wall, the brothers of the Night’s Watch drink hot mulled wine, spiced with cloves and nutmeg. In our opinion, the Night’s Watch hot mulled wine is the perfect drink to serve to your guests, nobility or not. So let’s start the evening with a glass that smells like winter.
To be honest, when we got invited to go to BlizzCon 2016 it was like a dream come true: ‘Sakuraflor at BlizzCon!’ It was definitely an event which was on all of our bucketlists. So getting a chance to go there was really insane. We didn’t even really know what to expect. It’s an International con and on top of that, it’s one of the biggest ones in the United States. So we went there with zero expectations.

specialization is character animation and character creation. I graduated from the School of Art in Utrecht back in 2010 and have built almost 7 years worth of work experience ever since. So, my first contact with the game industry was back when I started working for MediaMonks, a global creative production partner specialized in making online branding campaigns. The first game I ever worked on was a game series called ‘House of Anubis’. I did some small modelling work back then for this series. Later on I worked on the Ninja Turtles game called ‘The Sewer Run‘. This time I got to do a lot more. Like animating Mikey, Leo and the shadow ninjas. It was an amazing project and I was happy to be part of it. Even though this project didn’t take long, I was nice to get some experience working on games.

My name is Heather, I’m 29 years old and I’m here to tell you about my geeky love story. But first, let me give you some background information. I didn’t start gaming on consoles like alot people out there. My actual first encounter with gaming was in an arcade – more specifically, with Street Fighter and Pac-Man. After that, I found out about DOSgames and started playing Mario Kart on the Nintendo 64 at a friends house. I’ve written for a lot of gaming websites (for over 7 years now) and currently I still do so sometimes.
A question some people want answered is: ‘do girls like to date gamers?’. It’s something we didn’t realize was important, but somehow a lot of the female gamers we know are in a relationship with other gamers. You can read about a few of these gaming couples here. So what we wanted to know from our community was: How important is it that their (future) partner is a gamer? Do they really prefer to date gamers? And if so, how important is the fact that they like games when you’re deciding wether or not to date someone?
