Apperently, playing Chess is a hype. At least in the Netherlands it is. When the corona pandemic kept people stuck at home, (online) chess seemed a popular pastime for a lot of people. And when The Queens Gambit launched, even more people started playing. Online chess games have leaderboards where people can compete, and rank themselves amongst the world. At my current job, people play chess during their breaks regularly, ranking the store employees on the wall. Not much fun for me though, since I don’t really play. But luckily, there is a solution for that: Chessarama!

First of all, let’s get something straight. We love gamers. That is no secret. And sometimes gamers meet other gamers and fall in love. One of the unique benefits of dating a fellow gamer is that it opens up a whole bunch of possibilities for fun activities both partners can enjoy. As a gaming couple, there are many fun activities you can do together to enhance your gaming experiences.
Do you struggle to keep up with simple tasks or are you having trouble remembering your chores? Or maybe you simply feel unmotivated to work on your good habits and quit the bad ones? I’ve always been the type of person who needed an extra boost of dopamine to do something, anything. Or I would only do things with other people, but neglect any type of solo task. I wouldn’t go on walks until Pokémon Go was released. And all of a sudden I was eager to go out there to catch Pokémon, walk to gyms, or walk to hatch eggs. If you recognize this particular type of getting motivated, you might want to check out Habitica. A simple, but fun and effective app to organize your goals and life.
What is Gaming cardio? Well, it is a phrase I just made up, so let me explain. If you visit our website regularly you might have noticed a few articles about fitness. Like the RPG-style workout series called ‘Level up your fitness’, where we basically ‘gamify’ your workout so you can enjoy it more. But what about video games that have a workout already built in? Why not use those games to entertain ourselves and level up our ‘fitness game’ as well? Genius! Right? So here’s my list of suggestions for video games that I consider to fall under the category of Gaming cardio to help you get the best of both worlds!

I’ve received my Steam Deck a few months ago and I’ve been loving the experience so far! Why!? The variety of games it can play, the smooth controls, the amazing visuals, etc. Since the Steam Deck arrived I have been neglecting my Nintendo Switch. Two handhelds, with some noticeable similarities. That got me thinking. Is the Steam Deck just a replacement for the Nintendo Switch? Or is it something else completely? Let’s find an answer to that question while telling you everything about the Steam Deck!
We all know the gamer stereotype: People who spend all day in front of the computer or console, barely moving a muscle. When they do move, it’s usually to walk to the kitchen and grab some potato chips or a plate of cookies with a soda to wash it down. As a result of this lifestyle, gamers are often incredibly skinny if they are blessed with a quick metabolism or overweight if they aren’t. Did we describe that right? Are gaming and fitness hard to match? Or is there more to be said?
Welcome back to the level up your fitness workout series! We are already in week 2 of our 6-week program and we are very excited you are still with us! This week we get to meet our second class: the Paladin. A little more core this week, but of course, a Paladin is basically a magic fighter class, so he has to be able to tank a bit and take bodyshots.
What are the best Pokémon baby names? You might think: ‘Girl, what took you so long to make this list?’ But let’s get real. There are already a lot of baby name lists out there. Some lists are wonderful and some are plain awful. Some names are too much on the nose (We can’t all name our kids Ash. Don’t be ridiculous!). And some are needlessly complicated and over-the-top unique. Believe me, nobody wants to walk around with a name like Zigzagzoon. Furthermore (Hah, fancy!), some names have a negative association (Do not name your baby Slowpoke or Primeape. Please.) So this list required some thought. Here is my version of the best Pokémon baby names. Enjoy!
