What seemed so far away is finally almost here β¦ the last season of Game of Thrones! I have enjoyed this series every single year. I think my favourite scene from the show remains the moment when upon their return, the Starks find a dead stag, the sigil of House Baratheon. A bit farther away they find a dead dire wolf and her surviving puppies. The dire wolf has part of the stag’s rack in its belly. Knowing that the dire wolf is the sigil of the Stark family and there are as many puppies as there are Stark children (even an albino runt for Jon), they take the puppies in as companions. Obviously foreshadowing whatβs to come.
It’s a grim scene I admit. But hey so is the rest of the series right? Please let us know what your favourite Game of Thrones scene is in the comment section below. Need some inspiration? Read our interview with Sibel Kekilli who played Shae here.
Time to prepare for battle!
Back on topic! I am so looking forward to April 14 when the first episode of season 8 will be broadcast worldwide. The episodes of this season are no less than 60 to 80 minutes long. Obviously I want to fully enjoy every minute of it. So please read further if you want to know how I am going to accomplish this!
1. Dress to impress
From the beginning of April I will take all my GOT clothes out of the closet to parade in the street in style. Part of the fun is the raised eyebrows of my colleagues when I walk around at work in a “geeky outfit”. For the big day itself I have this Amazon shirt in mind that I just adore! GOT outfits might be shown on our Girl Gamer Galaxy Instagram.
2. Game of Thrones Snacktime!
Of course there must be something to eat during such a long episode. My favourites: Oreo’s, caramel shortcakes or just an old-fashioned bag of crisps. Hungry much? Then I throw some toasts with tasty spreads on a plate to enjoy during the show (I like to pamper myself). For the final episode, we naturally go all out with dinner from the official cookbook by : “A feast of fire and ice”. Go big or go home!
3. A dire wolf den
Time for the final preparation. During the Game of Thrones episodes all the cushions (from the entire house) will be expertly collected on the couch with a nice cosy blanket. It will be time to prepare a little den where I can chill throughout the entire winter, uh I mean episode. And yeah, my phone will be on mute. We will not be disturbed! Unless you send a raven, then we will be impressed.
Tips?
